The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are concerned about the future of their academy…

Charly Musonda has recently taken to social media to seemingly voice his displeasure at his treatment at Stamford Bridge, and this is something that does give the Blues cause for concern.

Chelsea are, of course, famed for their lack of youth development, with very few players ever getting a proper chance at Stamford Bridge, and this is something that Antonio Conte needs to resolve.

Judging from Musonda’s comments, he looks just about done with his lack of game time at Stamford Bridge, despite his suggestion that he will fight on, but it is not too late for some of Chelsea’s other young players.

Indeed, the Blues have one of Europe’s best academies, and Conte can’t afford to waste any more talent.

With that said, 2 other Chelsea youngsters that Conte simply must give a chance this season…

 Ethan Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu is clearly highly-rated at Chelsea, given that he was included in the first team squad against Nottingham Forest, but he has a long way to go.

He is just 17-years-old, and the fact that he is amongst the first team squad is massive – but the likes of Josh McEachran and Nathaniel Chalobah were in a similar position at his age, and they didn’t turn out how Chelsea had planned.

Fortunately, Ampadu’s versatility – he is able to play in both midfield and defence – may make it easier for Antonio Conte to squeeze him in this season, but he simply has to give him a chance.

He is excelling in the Chelsea developmental system, and he needs to get a chance to showcase his quality on the big stage.

 Jake Clarke-Salter

Jake Clarke-Salter has been around for a long time, and he has looked good over the last few years.

A solid defender, the centre-half is very resolute and no-nonsense at the back, and like Musonda, he has been retained in the Chelsea squad this season.

With a lack of depth in the defence, he could get a chance in cup competition, and he would be a fantastic option for Antonio Conte if he gives him a chance.

He’s raw, but he is so talented.
