  1. I remember all those games very very well. I remember starting the sing that echoed around Ewood Park, it went…… “were NOT going to wembley” very funny and very loud. I was also interviewed by the MEN on the pitch after the game and it ended up on the front page??? The derby is a given being the first time we heat the scummers for soooo long.

Wembley, good day out that, we were rubbish, mr Halsey the ref, hero ref. He never gave that clear as say hand ball against Whitley late on, I’ll never forget him for that. I also won’t EVER forget telling all my mates and my bro to stay put because it wasn’t worth leaving? Where would we go? We may as well stand here and sulk??? Well we all know sulking turned into singing, the rest is history…..

  2. I nearly passed out on 30th May 1999, several times. It was my birthday the day before and I was a bit fragile to say the least. I agree – had we not been promoted, I dread to think where we’d be today – if anywhere.

  3. If either of you are in a position to see it, you should rent the movie Blue Moon Rising, there is a great section in it about the Playoff promotion!
