‘Never in the starting line up’ - Man United fans on Twitter react as popular star looks ahead

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from Juan Mata as he prepares to face his former side, Chelsea in this season’s FA Cup final next month. The midfielder has claimed the final will be special and with four league games left before the Wembley final, The Spaniard will be looking to gain momentum ahead of the clash. Mata, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, was an unused substitute on Saturday as he watched his side overcome Tottenham 2-1 at Wembley. The Spanish magician will be looking ahead to the final on 19th May as he aims to win his third FA Cup to add to his already impressive trophy cabinet containing the Champions League, two Europa Leagues, the World Cup and the Euros.

Juan Mata has played a somewhat subdued role under Jose Mourinho this season. The Spaniard, at the age of 29, has had to contend with Jesse Lingard, Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera for a spot in Jose Mourinho’s midfield. Manchester United need to win the FA Cup this year if they are to draw level with Arsenal as the club that has won the competition the most amount of times with 13 titles. The club could also do with winning a trophy for the season to go down as a success after bowing out of the Champions League to Sevilla and being so far off the pace set by their noisy neighbours, Manchester City.
