The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had a pretty busy day today…
Whilst the Blues have remained quiet for much of the month, it would appear as though Antonio Conte has left all of his business to the last minute – with a number of players touted with moves to and from Stamford Bridge.
One such player is Branislav Ivanovic, who is reportedly set for a move to Russia – with Zenit reportedly keen on the veteran Serbian.
Often a divisive figure in recent years, Ivanovic has been a long-standing member of the Chelsea first team – and only under Antonio Conte this season has the Serbian lost his place in the Chelsea first team.
Whilst he has struggled over the last couple of seasons in parts, Ivanovic has been a consistent figure during the most successful period in the Blues’ history – and none will forget his fine performances en route to the 2012 Champions League final in a hurry.
Unsurprisingly, despite the criticism of the Serbian in recent years, the Chelsea fans on Twitter are full of compliments for the defender, with many praising him for his fine performances over the years.
