Newcastle face a possible bidding war to sign Bournemouth ace David Brooks, with Crystal Palace, Leeds, Leicester, Tottenham and West Ham also interested in securing his signature in the summer transfer window, according to Wales Online.
However, as per the outlet, these Premier League clubs would have to cough up £40m if they want to prise Brooks away from the Cherries.
The attacking midfielder unfortunately missed the majority of the 2019/20 season as he needed surgery on an ankle injury, limiting him to just nine games in the Premier League, in which he managed one goal (via Transfermarkt).
Nevertheless, Brooks has shown previously in England’s highest division that he could be a valuable addition at St. James’ Park if Newcastle can land him.

The Welsh international scored a relatively impressive seven goals and provided five assists in the Premier League in the 2018/19 season (per Transfermarkt).
Also, at the age of just 23, Brooks arguably still has a lot of potential to grow as a player and could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for the years to come.
Although a £40m price tag has been quoted, Bournemouth may have to decrease that valuation given that they were relegated from the Premier League this year, and so Brooks could well be available for a cut-price fee.

However, the Magpies are likely to face some stiff competition from other sides in the top flight, and so may have to act quickly if they want to secure his services.
