Newcastle United are reportedly weighing up an improved offer to sign Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.

The Lowdown: Bids rejected

It has been reported that the St. James' Park outfit have had two bids rejected for Harrison in this transfer window, as they aim to bring in a new winger before it shuts.

Sky Sports journalist and North East reporter Keith Downie has claimed that they could 'revisit' a deal for Harrison over the next few days, and now it looks like they could submit another offer.

The Latest: New offer considered

As per Football Insider, the Tynesiders have stepped up their interest in Harrison 'in recent days', and are now 'weighing up' a new and improved third offer for the Englishman.

Leeds have put a price tag of £35m on him, while the Magpies have only gone up to £25m so far.

The Verdict: Get it done

Considering that he is English and just 25 years of age, £35m could look like a bargain for Harrison in the long run.

Hailed as a 'perfect' signing for Eddie Howe's team by pundit Kevin Campbell, Harrison has created as many chances as Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne in the Premier League so far this season, and is also level with the Belgian at the top of the assists chart (FotMob).

Nonetheless, to take one of their top-flight rivals' best players towards the end of the window would certainly be a statement from the Toon, and the fact he's a homegrown talent just about to enter his prime is the cherry on the cake.
