Newcastle United are eyeing a quadruple transfer swoop for Patrik Schick, Todd Cantwell, Tom Davies and Weston McKennie in the summer window, according to the Daily Mail.
As per the outlet, Steve Bruce is looking for more attacking players to sign in the market and AS Roma’s Schick has emerged as their top target at £22 million.
Who should Newcastle sign?
Indeed, the 24-year old would certainly add goals up front, with 10 in 28 games in the 2019/20 season in addition to three assists whilst on loan at RB Leipzig (via Transfermarkt).
In addition to Schick, Cantwell, Davies and McKennie are all midfield players that may well make the move to St. James’ park should the prices be right.
Cantwell is currently valued at £18 million, and would hope to add to the seven goals and two assists that he provided for Norwich City in the last campaign before the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League to the EFL Championship.
However, the Magpies are likely to have to battle it out with fellow top-flight rivals Southampton for the latter (per Daily Mail).
With Davies currently valued at £14.4 million and McKennie at £18 million, the total market value of all of the midfielders is over £50 million, and so with the addition of Schick too the Toon may well be looking at a transfer splurge of over £70 million in total for the four players.
Nevertheless, these are just rumours and only time will tell as to whether they will all sign for NUFC in this window.
