Newcastle United are expected to oversee a major squad reshuffle this summer as Eddie Howe looks to rebuild after a frustrating campaign.
With European football now out of reach and consistency proving elusive throughout the season, recruitment — and crucially player trading — is expected to play a huge role in reshaping the squad at St James’ Park.
According to reports from The i paper, there are very few untouchables within the current setup, even if key names such as Lewis Hall, Bruno Guimarães, Lewis Miley and Sven Botman are still viewed as central to the club’s long-term plans.
Elsewhere, uncertainty surrounds a number of senior figures. Anthony Gordon continues to attract strong interest from Bayern Munich, while Newcastle are also said to be open to major offers for Sandro Tonali as they seek financial flexibility to refresh the squad.
That has inevitably raised questions around the future of one of the club’s breakthrough stars — striker Will Osula — after a dramatic rise in stock over recent months.

According to The i, Newcastle are prepared to demand a huge fee for Osula should clubs test their resolve this summer.
The 22-year-old forward has emerged as one of the brightest stories of Newcastle’s season, scoring seven Premier League goals and rapidly establishing himself as a genuine attacking option under Howe. After initially struggling for opportunities, Osula seized his chance during the second half of the campaign and now appears firmly on the radar of multiple clubs.
The i report that Everton and Aston Villa have both admired the Danish striker for some time, while clubs in the Bundesliga continue to monitor his situation closely. However, Newcastle’s valuation has risen sharply.
Last summer, Eintracht Frankfurt were reportedly exploring a £30 million move for Osula, but the feeling internally is that it would now take close to double that figure before Newcastle would even seriously entertain negotiations.
That dramatic rise reflects both his form and potential. Osula’s goal return, combined with an excellent goals-per-minute ratio, has strengthened the belief that he could become a key part of Howe’s plans for years to come.
At the same time, Newcastle’s financial reality means no player is entirely off limits. If a truly massive proposal arrives, the Magpies may at least listen — but they appear determined to ensure any interested side pays a premium for one of their fastest-rising assets.
