Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their team’s clash with unbeaten Premier League leaders Manchester City this weekend, with the Reds going into it off the back of a 2-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup.
Goals from James Milner and Virgil van Dijk either side of a Gylfi Sigurdsson equaliser was enough to seal the victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men last Friday, in turn booking them a spot in the fourth round of the world’s oldest club competition, where they will face Alan Pardew’s West Brom. And that success extended their unbeaten domestic run to 14 games, thus setting them up perfectly for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s City on Sunday, as the Reds seek to become the first English side to beat the Citizens this season.
Subsequently, there have many delighted Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are likely to be intrigued by recent reports suggesting that their side could move to bring Naby Keita to Anfield this month, as opposed to in the summer.
The 22-year-old has already agreed a permanent deal with the Reds but that was not due to take place until the summer, yet Philippe Coutinho’s departure to Barcelona this week has left Klopp somewhat short of midfield options.
And reports suggest that the Reds could bring Keita to Anfield this month if they pay a premium of between ’15 and 20 million euros’, a deal many Liverpool fans are calling for on Twitter…

If Keita is as good as he’s portayed to be….paying extra to get him early is a no brainer!

Would be nice to get him in early. Half a season to get used to the PL and an additional quality option at Klopp’s disposal.

Keita solves 75% of our problems. #Baller

If it’s true – which I doubt – it’s a no brainer to pay £13m and sign Keita now. Got £142m to play with and can pay £13m for someone to slot straight into Coutinho’s place? Get it done #LFC!
