‘No brainer’, ‘Let’s get it done’ - Liverpool fans urge Klopp to land £31.5m-rated stalwart

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to another summer of progression. It’s been a fantastic 18 months or so for the Reds, with Jurgen Klopp really taking his team to the next level.

Big money signings like Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have really turned their fortunes around, and so next season, many are expecting Klopp’s men to challenge for the Premier League title.

However, that being said, there is a gulf in class between them and Man City, and so a major signing or two could be needed again at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen exactly who Liverpool will look to move for, but one player that appears to be popular amongst fans is Toby Alderweireld. Tottenham are reportedly open to losing the Belgian after failing to agree terms on a fresh contract, and it’s easy to see where he would fit in.

Liverpool have struggled at the back defensively over the last few years, and the arrival of Virgil van Dijk has helped calm those problems, but they’re far from unstoppable.

Clearly, though, fans think that Alderweireld – who is rated at £31.5 million by Transfer Markt – could be the man to turn the defence from a solid collection of players into one of the Premier League’s best – and it’s tough to disagree.

I'd take #Alderweireld at Liverpool, partner Van Dijk? Hell yes. Liverpool have shown they'd spend big for a defender already, we'd do it again.
