Not just Evans: Man United should consider re-signing these 2 players this summer

The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern today are hoping that Jose Mourinho can bring back an old favourite to Old Trafford, in his bid for more stability at the back of the team in the upcoming window.

With it looking likely that the Red Devils will finish runners-up to Champions and rivals Man City, Mourinho is already plotting next seasons assault on the Premier League. Indeed one area he would like to further solidify is the defence – despite it being only second to City on goals conceded this season.

West Brom star and former United defender Jonny Evans is reportedly on Mourinho’s radar come the summer, with the Northern Irish star impressing during his time at the Baggies.

United have long been in need of defensive partnership at the core of the team, and our regulars often mention that Evans could be the perfect guy having already won three titles at Old Trafford in his first spell with the club.

With that in mind, our landlord takes a look at two more ex-players that Mourinho should look at bringing back to Old Trafford to really give the team a whole old-new look going into next season…

Wilfried Zaha

The Crystal Palace winger has been in sparkling form of late and is one of the main reasons behind Palace’s recent Premier League resurgence.

Although he didn’t quite make it at Old Trafford first time around, a decision to opt for a return back to Old Trafford could now pay off for the winger, who is older and more experienced. Following a string of outstanding performances in the Premier League since his move back down south, the Ivory Coast international is looking back to the majestic talent that could earn him a move to United for the second time of asking.

A move to the Red Devils would see Zaha make the step up in level once again and you’d think this time he’d be better prepared to fully take his chance.

Chicharito

The little Mexican picked up his form in the Bundesliga following his move away from Old Trafford under former boss Louis van Gaal, in turn earning him a move back to the Premier League with West Ham. It’s not been the best of times at the Hammers for the ‘Little Pea’ but a move back to United would certainly make the fans happy.

Mourinho could do with a backup striker with Hernandez’s eye for goal and impact from the bench as something different for the team in times of need.
