Not long to go: 2 key transfers Crystal Palace must seal before the window closes

Crystal Palace are struggling at the moment, and the Eagles fans here in the Tavern are cutting a frustrated picture at the moment.

The Sam Allardyce effect has not quite took hold yet, and they look like they are in a serious battle against relegation.

A lot of the talk here in the Tavern over at the dartboard has been about what Allardyce needs to do to turn the fortunes of the club around. This could well include dipping into the transfer market in January before the window shuts.

Our landlord thinks Palace need to get some new players in their ranks before January is out, and we agree with him.

With that in mind, here are TWO key transfers Crystal Palace need to try and seal before the transfer window shuts…

Chris Wood

To stay up, Palace are going to need some goals and presence up top alongside Benteke, and Chris Wood of Leeds is having a terrific season.

Wood would not come cheap, but if Palace want to stay up, they might well need to take a look at someone like the big New Zealander.

Big, strong, and with a good eye for goal, Wood would be an excellent signing.

Tom Lees

Palace need to stop conceding so many goals, and a move for Sheffield Wednesday skipper Tom Lees could be a wise one.

Another top end Championship player who would not be sold for cheap, Lees has oozed class for the Owls since moving from Leeds.

He could well be an asset to the Premier League, and crucially, be an asset to Palace and their survival fight.
