The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are in a bitter sweet moment following the recent events in the transfer market.

Whilst losing a player of Romelu Lukaku’s calibre is a major blow, it would have been softened by the homecoming of Wayne Rooney who completed the move of fairytales with his return to his boyhood club.

Alongside Rooney, there has been some major action from the Toffees in the transfer market which has seen the likes of Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez follow Rooney through the gates at Goodison Park

However, our landlord doesn’t believe that this should be the end of business from Everton and he believes that Koeman needs to move fast and make one or two signings need to be made, in order to push the Toffees into a top four place.

This has sparked up a big debate among the Everton fans in the Tavern.

Many can’t believe that there is a feeling that more signings need to be made but many others feel that Koeman needs to act fast to sign the players he needs, before the window slams shut.

With that said, let’s see the TWO players that the Toffees should sign before time runs out in this summer’s transfer window…

Gylfi Sigurdsson

The man Koeman really wants is proving hard to get at the minute with Sigurdsson’s club, Swansea, rejecting a bid of £40 million from the Toffees for their prize asset already this summer.

However, this will not stop Everton in pursuit of their man and the feeling among all in the Tavern is that this deal will be wrapped up before the window shuts, although time does look to be running out with just a month left.

Christian Benteke

Although the Toffees have already seen strikers, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez come through the doors of Goodison Park, the feeling from our landlord is that Koeman still wants a like for like replacement for Romelu Lukaku in time for the new season.

Lukaku shares many similar qualities to Christian Benteke and the Everton fans in the Tavern feel that the Crystal Palace man is the most likely candidate to replace his countryman at their club, as they look for a physical presence up front.
