Emre Can is a divisive figure among Liverpool fans and even when they roared aloud as he struck home the winning goal in a narrow victory over Burnley on Sunday, a few Kopites were still moaning about the midfielder.
To be fair to them, the Germany international has not been at his best this season and seems to have regressed when many thought he was primed to kick on under Jurgen Klopp – a manager who clearly appreciates his footballing ability.
Despite all of this, reports have circulated that he is keen to secure a £100,000-per-week pay-day to stay at Anfield as contract negotiations rumble on between the 23-year-old and the club.
