The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been tearing into France and Atletico Madrid superstar, Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman was long touted with a move to Old Trafford last summer and has been linked with a Barcelona switch over the last few weeks, although he’s now come out and spectacularly announced that he’ll be staying at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The French forward was apart of Atletico Madrid’s Europa League winning team this season and the incredible forward scored either side of half-time as Diego Simeone’s side beat Marseille 3-0 in Lyon. Those two goals were just a fraction of the 29 he bagged in all competitions for Ateti this season and the forward’s hot goalscoring form made him one of Barcelona’s top transfer targets this summer, that is, before he sensationally turned them down.
This isn’t the first time the 27-year-old has found himself cloaked in controversy. The French forward’s out-there style has previously seen his name in the headlines. Just last December the Frenchman painted himself black to attend an 80’s party as one of the Harem Globetrotters, here’s a report from the Daily Mail of the incident. The French star could well have been a United player last summer will now be continuing his career in Madrid, and whilst the Red Devils are pleased that the 27-year-old isn’t at Old Trafford, they’ve still got plenty of bad words to say about him.

Despite Antoine Griezmann’s obvious talents, the United fans propping our bar up are counting their lucky stars that they didn’t break the bank for him after yet more controversy has surrounded him off the pitch.
