Nottingham Forest fans have wished departing defender Joe Worrall good luck on Twitter.
The 21-year-old has joined Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on a season-long loan on the final day of the EFL loan transfer window.
Although Worrall played over 50 times for The Reds over the two seasons prior to this one, and captained an England under-21 side that won the 2017 Toulon Tournament, this was still not enough to work his way into Karanka’s plans.
Many fans believe that this is a good move for the young defender, claiming he will get a lot of game time, including European football, and will come back a better player.
Gerrard has been pursuing a number of defenders this summer, as he hopes to shore up a defence that was very weak last season, and sees Worrall (valued at £7.2m on Transfermarkt.co.uk) as an answer to his defensive woes.
This is what the fans had to say:
Good move for the player and both clubs at this stage of his career.
