Nottingham Forest shared details on Friday regarding plans for their new training ground.

They also provided an update on the new Peter Taylor Stand, and that naturally had plenty of Forest fans talking on social media.

A new two-storey building and enhanced facilities at The Nigel Doughty Academy are in the pipeline, which will include up to 14 changing rooms and three classrooms. The latest update follows the ongoing investment in the facilities at Wilford Lane to meet Category One Academy standards.

Planning permission will be submitted, with a decision expected early in the New Year. Meanwhile, chairman Nicholas Randall admitted that plans for the new Peter Taylor Stand have been ‘complex’, with Forest keen to ‘conclude the planning process’ as soon as possible.

Forest fans react

Forest shared the updates on their official Twitter channel on Friday morning. Here is what these fans had to say in reply, with many buzzing and one labelling it as 'brilliant news', while another gave thanks to owner Evangelos Marinakis for making the financial commitment towards this significant club development.

“For all the little mistakes with recruitment and Ioannis, can't fault Evangelos for plowing money into us, I'd like to see him follow this up with a new young permanent quality striker”
