Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have really enjoyed this season and now they’ve received even more good news as they look to build for the future.
The Blues have been the team to beat for some time this season with them well in charge of the Premier League title chase as they look to extend their lead with a win over West Ham tonight.
They head to the London Stadium looking to right what happened in the EFL Cup earlier this year as the Hammers dumped them out of the competition.
At that point much talk was about the Hammers’ new ground, too, and so with the news (via Sky Sports on Twitter) that Chelsea are set to go ahead with their redevelopment of Stamford Bridge – they’ll be hopeful of less teething troubles.
It’s certainly caught our punters’ imagination here in the Transfer Tavern over what the new ground will look like with plenty of the biggest clubs in the league working on their grounds on getting new ones.
Chelsea will hope it heralds a successful new era, too, though plenty of other fans on Twitter have been quick to cast negative comments about it.
Here, then, is a taste of the reaction…
