It’s been a sensational weekend for the Red Devils here in the Tavern, and they haven’t even played, as a Chelsea draw and a Manchester City loss has put United fans in high spirits.
Indeed, after seeing their rivals and biggest competition for second-place fail to win at the weekend, United fans were to receive even more great news, as Jose Mourinho looks to secure a new long-term contract for David De Gea. As you can imagine, considering his lengthy links with a move to Real Madrid, this has gone down well in our bar.
The Spanish shot-stopper has been crucial to their current position, and to every match the team plays in, as he establishes himself as a contender for the world’s best. In the eyes of our resident Red Devils, there certainly is no one better between the sticks.
Nevertheless, Manchester United’s Twitter account took to posting news of Mourinho wanting to give De Gea a new long-term contract.
