Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are unsure on the future of their longest serving player after the Liverpool Echo explained how there have been no talks between Aaron Lennon and Everton regarding a permanent switch.
Many assumed that if he had a successful loan spell he would then make a switch to Goodison Park at the end of the season.
But despite the fact that he will be returning to North London at the end of the season, he does believe that the move up to Merseyside has given him a “fresh start”.
Lennon scored his first goal for Everton against QPR, which turned out to be the match winner, it was actually his first goal since December 2013.
His goal, 13 minutes from time at Loftus Road, made the Toffees 2-1 winners, moving them nine points clear of the relegation zone.
But despite this heavy influence, the former Leeds United winger, has said that his future is not something that has come up in conversation and as far as he is aware, he is there until the end of the season.
“We’ve not looked or spoke about it,” Lennon said.
“All I am looking at is the next game and playing as well as I can and trying to help the team to win.
“As I say, we’ve not looked at it long-term, I am just here to try and help the team win and taking each game as it comes.
“I try and just work as hard as I can in each game and help the team win.”
