Ones to watch: You need to keep your eyes peeled on these 2 Arsenal starlets

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are still drinking to forget last season but lucky for them, their club’s future looks very bright.

Recent reports from ESPN revealed that Arsenal used Academy graduates more often than any other Premier League side last season.

Nearly 20 percent of Arsenal’s minutes in the league was played by a combined six players from their youth set-up.

Now some Arsenal fans may attribute Arsene Wenger’s faith in his younger players to the fact that they had their worst league finish under the French manager.

Whilst that may be true, it does mean that the Gunners have some big talents for the future who could work their way into the first team and have a big impact in the side.

Whether they get their chance at constant first team football this season or in the next few years, there are a few potential stars in the Arsenal youth ranks.

On that note, here are two Arsenal starlets you need to keep your eye on.

Alex Iwobi

21-year-old Alex Iwobi will be hoping this season can be his real breakout year especially if Alexis Sanchez departs.

The Nigerian winger is essentially everything Danny Welbeck is just without the constant injuries.

He always looks good when he features in the first team and if he is given the opportunity next season then his pace, strength and passing ability could turn him into a household name.

If Sanchez does depart then expect to see more of Iwobi during the 2017/18 campaign.

Joe Willock

Joe Willock looked set to leave the club recently following the expiration of his scholarship deal.

However, since then he has been included in first team training sessions and now looks set to stay,

The 17-year-old could potentially be the fix to Arsenal’s problems in the centre of the park.

Granit Xhaka has begun fixing the issues there but that is still the weakest position on the field for the Gunners and it has been costing them for a few years now.

He won’t get into the first team this season, at least it looks unlikely but look out for the name Joe Willock in a few seasons time.
