It’s exciting times if you’re an Everton fan, and those down in the Transfer Tavern believe their side are ready for a proper go at the top six this season.

The Toffees are having a summer to remember, with seven new faces so far welcomed to Goodison Park.

Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Sandro Ramirez are all among those expected to make their debut in the club’s opening Premier League game this weekend.

A second debut also awaits local boy Wayne Rooney, who has returned 13 years since moving to Manchester United.

The 31-year-old is back home and could be the catalyst to push the club into the top six.

England’s top goal scorer made his name as a teenager for the Merseysiders, and Everton boss Ronald Koeman will believe he has a number of top stars of the future in his current crop of players.

MASON HOLGATE

Last season the Englishman progressed greatly and looks well on his way to becoming a top Premier League full-back.

Yet, with the Toffees set to utilise three at the back, the 20 year-old who is more suited to centre-half could be deployed in his natural position.

He possesses all the tools to be a leading player for Everton this season.

TOM DAVIES

The 19 year-old emerged as one of the top performers for the Toffees during the second half of the season.

Koeman has settled him into the first-team swiftly. However with the addition of Wayne Rooney and Davy Klaassen, Davies may find regular game time in the middle hard to come by.

He’s been tested at right-wing-back and could find himself out on the flanks this season.
