Only King Kenny Can Solve This Mess…

Everybody knows Liverpool need a left back in the summer, and the transfer rumours circulating have been endless. So much so that there has even been speculation that they will go for Everton’s Leighton Baines which would be a highly controversial move. While this recent left back to be named as Liverpool first choice target, isn’t as controversial, he is more of a realistic one and that is Inter Milan’s David Santon.

Liverpool will attempt to land one of Italy’s most promising talents using Alberto Aquiliani in a swap deal this summer. Santon hasn’t been able to gain much first team football this season and Juventus are not expected to meet the agreed £14 million purchase option at the end of Aquiliani’s loan deal.

While a talented youngster, Santon has struggled due to the form of experienced regulars Maicon and Christian Chivu who have performed well on the right and left sides of the Inter defence. The 20 year old has therefore been loaned out to struggling Cesena.

Santon has received many plaudits for his performances for Internazionale. He has been able to play on the right side of defence at times and has looked just as comfortable. Mourinho praised him for his personality and tactical versatility. When making his home debut against Manchester United Ronaldo himself said about Santon after the match: “I was impressed by Santon; he is a really interesting lad and a great”. Santon has also caught the eye of former Italy head coach Marcello Lippi who described Santon as “A predestined that reminds of a young Paolo Maldini.” He has subsequently featured six times for his country.

While versatile Liverpool will look to use Santon as their first choice left back, given their shortcomings in that area, and the right back spot seemingly covered by Glen Johnson and the ever improving Martin Kelly.

Inter Milan may be tempted by the acquisition of Aquiliani as their midfield area is due a reshuffle this summer. Sulley Muntari will be offloaded while Stankovic and Cambiasso are reaching the end of their peaks.

There is also a lot of interest in their star midfielder Wesley Snejider. Therefore signing the 26 year old former Roma man may represent a good bit of business for all parties concerned.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
