According to Di Marzio, Arsenal and Colombia ‘keeper David Ospina is in Italy ahead of a medical today as he aims to complete his one-year loan deal to join Napoli. The deal reportedly has an option to buy at the end of the season.

The majority of Arsenal fans are a combination of pleased and disappointed at the news. The supporters are happy for the man himself as he finally seems to be getting the move he needs to be playing first-team football. However, they’re also disappointed that the 29-year-old didn’t get a fair chance at The Emirates. He was only used as a back-up under Arsene Wenger before Unai Emery came in and signed Bernd Leno to compete with Petr Cech.
Despite the fact that Ospina is leaving, some fans will be hoping that he can impress whilst in Naples and come back to challenge in North London, however, that seems like a very unlikely scenario. Most Gunners will be watching Napoli every opportunity they get and seeing how their loyal Colombian shot-stopper gets on. Unfortunately, football is a cutthroat business and with Leno and Cech, it wouldn’t be fair to keep Ospina as a third choice.

Arsenal has a whole did this man dirty. Cech could have been the one on his way out.

The Gunners will be hoping the man between the sticks can show what he’s capable of at Napoli and revive his career that had stalled at Arsenal.
