The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments made by their 21-year-old Scottish international, Scott McTominay. Whilst speaking in an interview for the Manchester United website, the youngster said how much Mourinho had helped him both on and off the pitch as he’s settled into life as a senior player at the Manchester club.

The Manchester United fans propping our bar up have been delighted with Mctominay’s contributions to the first-team this season. The young Scot has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils and after a successful breakthrough season, it’s likely that the midfielder will be a regular feature at Old Trafford for years to come. The 21-year-old is yet to score his first Manchester United goal, but if he keeps putting in the displays that he has been this year then it’s just a matter of time until he finds the net.
McTominay is just one of a number of senior players at Manchester United who came through the club’s ranks. Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba all came through at United, despite the fact Pogba took a few years out to develop his game at Juventus. Now though, McTominay has been sharing how Mourinho has been key in his rise to senior football this year. The 21-year-old claimed that Mourinho’s advice has helped become more humble, better on the training pitch and a better person in general.
