Our Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing just who their new manager is going to be when he is revealed later today.
Many Eagles punters, of course, think it is going to be Frank de Boer when the press conference takes place later this afternoon but they still want to see it confirmed before they start thinking about what he could be like.
Certainly, if he can replicate his success as a player as the Palace manager he’ll likely get a statue outside Selhurst Park but whilst we wait for confirmation the club has posted a rather interesting tweet that mirrors the white smoke out of the chimney when a new Pope is appointed.
Here, then, is the best of the reaction to the rather original move:

Outstanding!!

9.5/10 tweet. White smoke changing to Orange would’ve been perfect.

Thought about that, but too contrived. Keeping it natural!

There’s going to be an awful lot of your followers around the world who have no idea what’s going on.
