Our Crystal Palace fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Sam Allardyce can sort them out sharpish and are pleased to see that they are rejecting a reported move for Christian Benteke in The Daily Mail.
The Eagles have really struggled this season and sacked Alan Pardew towards the end of last month with the evident idea that they wanted ‘Big Sam’ in to help them sign decent players in the January window.
They’ll obviously be looking to hold on to their best stars, too, and with a reported fee of £40 million being touted for Christian Benteke, it won’t surprise you the interest comes from China.
Football in the Far-East is really coming on thanks to some of the stars the teams have right now with the likes of Oscar and Axel Witsel joining in recent times – proving that it is attractive.
It looks like, though, that the club in question – Beijing Guoan – will not be getting the big Belgian forward in and Palace will be looking forward to having him, hopefully, fire them to safety.
