Perfect for Chelsea: Liverpool’s 18-year-old starlet would be great at Stamford Bridge

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager for their club to invest in more young talent. Chelsea are in a position in which they need to look to the future, and their lack of youth focus is a bit of a problem at the moment.

Fortunately, there is a ton of talent across Europe that they could target, and our landlord thinks that Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster.

Brewster is, of course, apparently in a bit of a contract stand-off at Anfield – meaning that he’s facing an uncertain future at the club. He’s very highly rated at Anfield, and Jurgen Klopp undoubtedly will rate him very highly. He’s impressed at a number of levels, and the Reds will surely want to keep him and extend his contract – but if he refuses, they could be helpless.

Chelsea, then, should be paying attention to his current position – as there’s an argument to suggest that he would be perfect for the Blues. For starters, let’s not forget, Chelsea’s academy is a striker short following Liverpool’s signing of Dominic Solanke – and so it would be quite the journey if the Blues were to return the favour.

More to the point, though, it’s fair to say that Brewster is one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. He has been the star of the show in the developmental England team, offering deadly attacking play for a hugely successful age group.  For his club, he scored 5 goals in 11 games last season before a cruel injury put a halt to his development – but there’s no denying his quality.

Electric pace, deadly striking, great link-up play – and all at just 18-years-old.

Chelsea are in need of a forward too. Alvaro Morata hasn’t scored as many as the Blues’ had planned, whilst Olivier Giroud is already in his 30s. Bringing in a young forward – then – could be a sensational move.

Ironically, Brewster actually began his career at Stamford Bridge – and so what a journey it would be for him to return.
