‘Perfect for us’ - Loads of Chelsea fans want World Cup star to join the club

Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation is uncertain at present, and it posses aa big problem for the club this summer. Thibaut Courtois’ contract at the club expires next summer, and that in of itself is a problem. Add to that issues concerning his immediate future, having noted that he wants to be closer to his children in Spain, and his long-term future begins to look increasingly uncertain. Further to that, Willy Caballero has had a terrible World Cup, and so the Blues aren’t in good shape.

Fortunately, the club doesn’t appear to be wasting any time in preparing for the worst in this situation. Sky Sports report Kaveh Solhekol has noted on Twitter that Chelsea are keen on Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, with the Blues viewing him as a potential replacement for Courtois.

Schmeichel is, of course, coming off the back of a great World Cup with Denmark, who unluckily lost to Croatia on Sunday night by way of a penalty shoot-out.

Furthermore, it’s also worth noting that Schmeichel himself is a Premier League winner, and given Chelsea’s lofty goals, that experience is important.

Naturally, then, Chelsea fans have been talking about it online, and loads of fans have called for Schmeichel to sign for the club.
