Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern had their head in their hands again following their third defeat in a row yesterday at the hands of Manchester United.
Yesterday’s 4-0 defeat was the fourth game in all competitions without scoring a goal, conceding twelve in the process. start things have turned sour quickly this season. Everton looked slow, lacking in ideas and forward action, some fans have likened it to an LVG era United type performance.
A lack of pace at the back and up front was the Toffees’ biggest problem. Our Landlord mentioned that it looked as if Everton had gone backward, despite spending over £140m in the summer transfer window.
Koeman’s playing down of any top-four challenge and surely things have gone too far already to make that a realistic aim, much to the frustration of our punters.
