Anthony Martial hasn’t had the best few years. After an explosive start to life in Manchester, the Frenchman has slowed down considerably since the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
Blame can be placed in a number of directions. Undoubtedly, he’s not a player that Jose Mourinho seemingly fancies too much, and that has been a problem for him. Some blame, it’s fair to say, can be pushed towards Martial too. There have been moments that you could argue he hasn’t been playing at his best, and that’s had an impact too.
Now, though, it could be time for the parties to move on. According to the Guardian, the Red Devils could let him leave if he decides that’s what he wants. Significantly, any bidding for the Frenchman will start at £50 million, meaning that there would be more than enough money for the club to reinvest in a top-class talent.
Indeed, that sort of money could get Man Utd a nice replacement for him.
With that said, here are 2 signings that would make Man Utd forget all about Martial…
Florian Thauvin is best known in England for his time at Newcastle – but he’s a very different player now to that which he was then.
At 25-years-old, he’s really come of age over the last few years, and last season was his best yet.
A remarkable return of 22 goals and 11 assists put him amongst Europe’s best performers.
He’s able to play across the attack, and so Mourinho would certainly be a fan of how versatile he is.
His English experience is a bonus, too.
Christian Pulisic would be an audacious signing, but in they sold Martial, Man Utd would be losing one of Europe’s most talented players – and so they should really replace him with someone of equal standing.
Pulisic, though an American international, has been at Borussia Dortmund in Germany over the last few years, and his quality is evident.
Lightning fast, technically brilliant and agile, the 19-year-old is destined to be a star, and Man Utd would wise to invest quickly. He could be even better than Martial.
