Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern go into the international break in high spirits and you can certainly understand why that is.
Indeed, many United fans here by the bar are a bit annoyed that the break has come when it has as it could halt momentum and so many Red Devils supporters will be hoping that is not the case.
For sure, the club is looking strong, then, but it seems as though Ivan Perisic will definitely not be arriving this summer now after plenty of rumours suggesting otherwise.
Indeed, as quoted by The Independent, Croatia national team manager Ante Cacic has said that the winger will not be leaving his current club Inter Milan.
He said:
“I spoke to Ivan Perisic, he is happy at Inter.
“The coach [Luciano Spalletti] appreciates him, they are preparing a new contract for him.”
This deal, then, will not be happening this summer and with a new contract being set to be signed it remains to be seen if United reignite their interest further down the line.
In the meantime, though, the club has plenty of options out wide anyway and so they should be fine for the rest of the campaign.
Landlord’s Verdict
United really didn’t need Perisic that much and so he won’t be a big miss for this season coming.
The Red Devils have got great options out wide with the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford amongst others and so they’ll be fine for the rest of the campaign by the looks of things.
