Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are dreaming of securing Champions League nights in the coming years, especially with Romelu Lukaku’s recent comments now fresh in their minds.
The Toffees have gone well this season in the Premier League but a top four finish looks out of reach now.
Under Ronald Koeman, though, they’ll feel they can reel the top six in over the coming seasons and they’ll certainly have to, it seems, if they are to keep Romelu Lukaku at the club.
The powerful Belgian is expected to play in the Champions League before he can be considered one of the best around and it appears he knows that himself.

That came in light of the action last night in Europe’s premier competition and whilst it could just be taken with a pinch of salt, there’s also seemingly more to it than that.
The forward clearly wants to play at this level, with or without Everton.
