Liverpool supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are feeling very optimistic ahead of the new season now, after reading the news from Metro – with the publication claiming that the Reds are set to complete a deal for Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne.
Clyne is a name that has been banded around a lot in the Transfer Tavern this year, with it looking like he was going to go to Manchester United – however it now seems that Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool are in pole position to seal a deal for the highly-rated England international.
The 24-year-old defender looks set to join Danny Ings who secured a move to Anfield this week from Burnley, ahead of next season where Rodgers will be hoping for a much better campaign than the one just gone.
A large group of Liverpool fans over by the billiards table feel this would be a superb signing for the Reds, and would help enhance their squad ahead of a potential top four push next season.
