There is some breaking news being discussed in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as a possible new Manchester United transfer target emerges.
The news comes from the Daily Star who report that David Moyes is looking solve his midfield issues by landing Newcastle United hardman Cheick Tiote in the summer.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international is highly regarded in the bar and can be considered as one of the Magpies’ best players, especially after the departure of Yohan Cabaye in January.
It is understood that Moyes has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder and he even reportedly tried to sign him while he was in charge of Everton.
United certainly look short in midfield, with Moyes’ side struggling to gain a grip on matches and Tiote is the sort of player that punters believe could improve matters.
The latest speculation in the tavern has seen Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho linked with a move to Old Trafford, and we could be set to see some major activity at the Manchester club in the summer.
