  1. wigan’s pitch was relayed in the offseason a year or two ago, it’s now in perfect condition game in, game out. there’s a reason that teams like wigan have such good home records and it’s not because the top teams’ pitches are somehow magically better. lazy

  2. Paco, I apolgise to Wigan’s groundsman wholeheartedly. It wasn’t meant to be a portrayal of Wigan’s current pitch, more of a metaphor for bad pitches in general. It’s a shame how one pitch can stick in the memory.

That said, I hope you enjoyed this piece, and don’t think that it was entirely ‘lazy’ 😀

  3. yeah i did enjoy the article, definitely well written overall and a good read. it’s just that when you’ve spent several years reading about Titus Bramble being the worst player in the Prem when he is in fact the best player on your team (Palacios and Valencia being squad members at the time) you tend to get a touch sensitive. apologies though, retrospectively it was a bit harsh

  4. No problem Paco! I know how it is. Blimey, as a Spurs fan I’m constantly having to dodge sniping about my team, especially living in London (with all those pesky Gooners, Blues, and Hammers!).

Titus is as good as gold. You know what panto villains are like though, no-one can take them seriously.
