Arsenal fans counting down the hours to Europa League clash knowing Leno will start

Last night after a lot of Arsenal fans had gone to bed their club tweeted a very early piece of team news. Unai Emery faced the media yesterday and one of the questions was whether or not Bernd leno would make his debut against Vorskla. Emery confirmed that the German would start and you can read the rest of his comments on the Arsenal website.

So far this season Bernd Leno has had to be very patient as he awaits his debut. Plenty of Arsenal fans have bee baffled by Emery’s reluctance to throw the German into first-team action and it’s made even more strange by the fact that Petr Cech, who has been the number one so far, hasn’t been all that convincing. Tonight will be a chance for Leno to lay down a marker and he’ll be keen to get a clean sheet to his name on his first start.

The German shot-stopper came over from Bayer Leverkusen with a glowing reputation and although he missed out on the Germany squad for the World Cup he will be desperate to play his way into the Arsenal team and then back into his national team. The Gunners have been eagerly anticipating the moment Leno starts and now they know it’s coming they’ll be very excited for their Europa League clash.
