Everton: Blues call for ‘woeful’ Jordan Pickford to be sold - Everton

Despite scoring the highest rating out of the entire Everton side on Sunday (via Sofascore), Jordan Pickford is coming under fire left, right and centre. Chelsea thrashed the travelling Toffees 4-0 at Stamford Bridge and supporters have had enough of the team’s leaky defence.

Pickford looked one of the brightest young prospects in English football when Everton signed him from Sunderland in 2017. His £30 million transfer broke the club’s record for a signing and made him the most expensive British goalkeeper at the time. However, this season, the 26-year-old has tallied some alarming numbers.

Pickford has the lowest save percentage out of any Premier League shot stopper with just 61.8% (via NBC Sports). He has conceded 46 goals, just six less than bottom-ranked Aston Villa (via FootyStats).

His recent run of poor performances in between the sticks have got Everton fans calling for ‘woeful‘ Pickford to be sold in the summer. One fan has said he should be ‘first out the door’ while another has claimed he is one of the club’s ‘biggest issues’ right now.

Pickford would be one of my first out the door! If we want to compete, we need a better standard than him.

Pickford is one of the biggest issues in our squad. His attitude more than his poor form. I’d chose at least 10 PL GK’s over him.
