Everton’s 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend is definitely a match to forget for all involved with the club. However, the task is becoming increasingly harder with this recent batch of statistics from their performance at Stamford Bridge.
Fans are appalled reading the stats from their team against Chelsea – it’s evident in the scoreline that the Toffees didn’t perform well, but what are the finer details saying?
According to The Athletic, Everton’s tackle success against Chelsea was an abysmal 44%, the lowest of their entire season. The starting midfield won just one of their 13 attempted tackles, with Gylfi Sigurdsson not even attempting to make a single one (via Sofascore).
Between Andre Gomes and Tom Davies, Chelsea managed to dribble through the midfield eight times. Sigurdsson made just four sprints the entire game.
Fans are in uproar over the recent stats and have had enough of some of their deadwood players. One supporter has said ‘Sigurdsson should never wear the shirt again’ whilst another has branded the performance as ‘truly appalling’ from all.
Sigurdsson should never wear the shirt again. An example needs to be made.

It was a truly appalling performance.
The only explanation for all 10 outfield players underperforming is that they collectively decided not to bother trying.
They should all be dropped.
Do a Klopp and play the youngsters in the derby.

Sigurdsson is a shell of himself. Gomes, I’ll give a pass as he’s coming back to match fitness. I heard Davies has played 100 PL matches, and yet he still looks like a schoolboy out there amongst men.

Exceptionally poor performance, wasn’t it. The type we see every few months, so it’s not even that surprising. Hopefully they’re learning what some of this squad are like and drawing up a list for the bin in the summer. Too many don’t have the heart to be where we want to be.

If you can bring yourself to watch it again. Sigurdsson had ZERO touches between minutes 17 – 30. Disgraceful performance

1 tackle from 13 attempted is farcical

Everton fans, describe the Stamford Bridge performance in one word…
