Everton: Fans drool over Djibril Sidibe’s performance against Chelsea

Everton fans have heaped praise on right-back Djibril Sidibe after his performance during his side’s 3-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday.
Sidibe, 27, was an influential figure during Duncan Ferguson’s first match in charge of the Toffees and their first win at home in the Premier League since October.
Marco Silva was sacked after a 5-2 defeat to Liverpool in midweek, with the club legend taking temporary charge of the team until they find a successor.
Monaco loanee Sidibe was criticised for his performance against Liverpool. He was left red-faced as he was substituted during the first half after a change of shape.
However, Sidibe managed to turn his recent form around and produce a stunning performance against the 2012 Champions League winners:
Sidibie was superb today at right back, as he was at Leicester. A defensive animal, an athlete, and a really productive winger offensively. #EFC

He provided three key passes during the game, with one of those turning into an assist. Defensively, he pulled off seven tackles, four interceptions and three clearances.
Supporters loved his showing and made their feelings clear on social media.
Here you will find some of the best comments from Everton fans on Sidibe’s performance:
He was immense. Scrapped for everything/won every loose ball and then some. 👍

I can’t remember who it was but he volleyed a Chelsea player about 10 foot in the air in the middle of the park after about 80 mins. I’m a huge fan of him

Fair play to the lad to react after being subbed in the last 2 games, never hid & that’s what we need, not convinced with him defensively but his crossing is spot on
