Leicester City have certainly looked impressive under the guidance of Claude Puel in the current campaign, despite losing against Wolves earlier on today.

The Foxes are in with a chance of securing a European spot in the current campaign, which would certainly be a step in the right direction after finishing in ninth position last season.

Although, with the January transfer window here, it's vital that Puel brings in quality reinforcements.

One particular transfer that the Leicester boss could take inspiration from is the signing of James Maddison from Championship side Norwich City.

The Englishman has quickly established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, with five goals and three assists to his name at this moment in time. It really didn't take him long to settle down to life in the top-flight and he hasn't looked back since, as one of the Foxes' best signing in recent years.

However, the Foxes could go one better if they manage to secure the services of Kemar Roofe this month.

Roofe has been prolific in the Championship this season, scoring 14 goals for Leeds United, so he deserves a move to the top-flight of English football. His pace, strength, heading ability and eagle eye for goal makes him a very well-rounded forward, which would benefit the likes of Marc Albrighton and Demarai Gray delivering balls into the box.

Interestingly, the Englishman is yet to be offered a new contract and a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post last month stated that Leeds have not even started formal talks.

Roofe is 26 years old with the peak years of his football career on the horizon, so now would be the perfect time for the Foxes to line up a move for the in-form man. And with Jamie Vardy losing his prolific touch slightly at the King Power Stadium in recent times, it's safe to say that Puel is calling out for a prolific striker.

Therefore, having already gotten the very best out of Maddison this season, it would make perfect sense for the Foxes to dip back into the Championship to secure a forward who has the ability to become a star in the Premier League.
