Liverpool fans have issued a transfer demand to John W. Henry

What a night it was for Liverpool on Wednesday. Their win against Bayern Munich proved that their run to the Champions League final last week wasn’t a fluke, with the Reds now through to the last eight of the competition for the second time in as many years.

Following the game, Liverpool owner John W. Henry took to Twitter to react, and he shared a funny comment from a fan referring to Virgil van Dijk’s brilliant performance.

Of course, van Dijk scored and put in another brilliant defensive display for the Reds, with the Dutchman showing yet again just why Liverpool were so keen to spend big to bring him to Anfield.

Naturally, in response to John W. Henry’s comment, many fans are simply paying tribute to him for spending big on the defender, but a lot of Liverpool fans have actually issued a fresh demand instead.

Indeed, they’re looking for him to open his pockets once again to land another new defender, with Dutchman Matthijs De Ligt on the minds of a lot of supporters. The 19-year-old Ajax man has emerged as one of Europe’s best young talents in recent years, and given that he shares a nationality with van Dijk, fans are clearly eager to see them link up.
