The international break is upon us and clubs all over the country are seeing their players off and hoping they all come back fit and injury free. However, this break is a special one for Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson as the young Scottish left-back has been appointed as the Scotland captain for upcoming fixtures against Belgium and Albania. Robertson’s rise to being where he is is meteoric. The Scottish defender was relegated with Hull City before signing for Liverpool at the start of last season and no one would have predicted how good the Scotsman would be at Anfield. In under two years the defender has gone from an £8 million signing to compete with Alberto Moreno to a fully-fledged Liverpool starter with a Champions League final appearance and international captaincy to his name.
The fans are loving seeing Robertson’s rise and will be keen for him to continue to impress this season for both Liverpool and Scotland. If he can carry his Liverpool form into his two upcoming games with his country then there’s no doubt he’ll be retaining the armband for games to come. The only issue the Reds will have will be if the 24-year-old comes back injured as they have a crunch match with Tottenham at Wembley after the international break.

When I remember this lad was purchased for just £8 million. You see, price tag doesn’t always matter.
