When you’ve got one of the best players in the world for their respective position playing every week, it can be tough for a fan to see the second choice drafted in for cup games. For Liverpool fans, Andrew Robertson is an absolute revelation, yet when Alberto Moreno takes his place, like he did last night, it always makes for painful viewing.
The gulf in class and quality between Moreno and Robertson is just incredible.

As far as the Reds are concerned, Moreno is useless. There was panic over the weekend when it was confirmed by Jurgen Klopp that changes would be made for last night’s Wolves clash, although the fans weren’t expecting to be lining up with almost a full squad of fringe players. Moreno was obviously one of those, and the gulf between the Spaniard and his Scottish teammate was there for all to see.
Whenever discussing Moreno, it’s often said that the Spanish full-back is weak defensively but good going forward. However, after last night’s display at Molineux, the fans are questioning that as they’d much rather have him binned off altogether after seeing the way he went about going at Wolves down the left-flank. The only thing that will give the Kopites hope is knowing that next up for their side is Brighton away in the Premier League, and Andy Robertson will be returning for that one.

We literally have the best left back in the league and the worst

And he thinks he deserves a chance

You couldn’t give Moreno away never mind sell him he’s awful

I've neer understood why Moreno is considered a defender. Going forward, he's much better, but his defending is atrocious.

Makes you wonder how moreno is a footballer after a year of Andy.

That's why we need to invest in better cover, Moreno should have been moved on a long while ago, can't be trusted, club must recognise it and act, if Robbo gets injured we're stuffed if time !!

Was thinking the same throughout the half! One is so assured when he receives the ball out wide, the other is in 0% tune with everything and everyone around him

That was difficult to watch. We’ve been spoilt if late. Was like a flash back to Roy’s days at the helm

Too think Moreno was first choice beginning of last season

The Kopites are just grateful that they have Robertson to step in on Saturday after seeing Moreno’s performance yesterday, and they’ll hope they can go the rest of the season without seeing the Spaniard.
