Despite his team collecting a third Champions League win in a row, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah endured a frustrating night at Anfield as the Reds defeated Genk 2-1.
Is this the worst Salah has played since joining Liverpool?
The Egyptian was the only one of the regular front three to start, with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino among the substitutes, but instead it was Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who plundered the goals that gave Jurgen Klopp’s team the victory.

The 27-year-old’s lack of potency last night was highlighted by some reporters, with Sky Sports‘ Charlotte Marsh saying that he was “a victim of bad finishing” and Jack Lusby of This Is Anfield lamenting “another off day in front of goal, squandering chances that he would typically put away”.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter were also critical of Salah’s ineffectiveness in the final third against Genk:
I miss seeing Salah putting them away for fun…

He's completely lost his composure in the final third.

Doesn’t even feel like the same player when he first arrived

Scores 1 in 10 attempts lately

He was actually snatching at shots. I guess he was scared of getting hurt
