Lucas Moura had plenty of Spurs fans off their feet yesterday

Lucas Moura had plenty of Spurs fans off their feet yesterday

Having signed for the club back in January, a lot of Tottenham fans have been waiting to see the best of Lucas Moura and it looks like they’ve finally that after his man of the match display against Fulham yesterday. The Brazilian opened the scoring with a sublime strike with his weaker left foot and the fans are expecting big things of him now.

After being deemed surplus to requirements at PSG, Tottenham found themselves benefitting from Lucas Moura as he joined the club back in January and now he’s finally starting to get going properly. Heung-Min Son has left the squad to take part in the Asian Games and that has left a spot available which Lucas will be desperate to fill. After his display yesterday with his goal and his harrowing of the Fulham backline, Mauricio Pochettino will find it hard to drop him.

The 26-year-old scored the all-important opening goal for Pochettino’s side and whilst he could easily have had another couple of goals to his name on a good day for Tottenham, he’ll just be pleased to have bagged his first in the Premier League. It just goes to show what having a full pre-season does for a player and now he’s had time to adjust to Poch’s style and the players around him it was always going to be just a matter of time until he got his shooting boots on.

Plenty of Tottenham fans will be anxious to see more of Lucas’ stunning form and if he can grab another goal at Old Trafford next weekend then he’ll be a much loved figure in North London.
