Manchester United: Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira receive waves of criticism from supporters during Club Brugge draw - Manchester United

During Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Club Brugge on Thursday afternoon in their Europa League Round of 32 first leg tie, many Red Devils supporters were in full voice over the ‘absolutely useless‘ displays from Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira.

Emmanuel Dennis opened the scoring early on before Anthony Martial levelled ten minutes before half time, with both sides failing to find the winning goal over the second 45 minutes. The culprits, according to many supporters, are both Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard – with the former losing possession 15 times whilst only notching a 78% pass success rate, as per SofaScore.

Lingard, meanwhile, also faced backlash for his display – completing just one key pass whilst also losing the ball ten times. The Englishman also missed a chance to put the Red Devils in front, failing to convert a cross at the near post from Diogo Dalot.

As a result, the duo have been at the mercy of United fans on Twitter – here’s what they had to say.
