Reiss Nelson needs to play against West Ham according to Arsenal fans

Arsenal’s U23 side drew 1-1 against Brighton and Hove Albion’s U23s in the Premier League 2 thanks to a late goal from Reiss Nelson. Unai Emery was in attendance at the game and a number of Arsenal fans are hoping Nelson has done enough to convince the gaffer to play him on Saturday.

Arsenal have a rich history of bringing young players through the club and the current crop of youngsters are just as promising as ever, with Reiss Nelson one of the shining lights among them. The fans are waiting for their first win of the season and they’ll be confident that it can come on Saturday against West Ham, who are also winless, at The Emirates.

The Gunners are calling for some of their U23s to get given a chance in the fixture, though, with some calling for Mesut Ozil to be demoted to the bench for someone like Nelson or another one of their youngsters, Emile Smith-Rowe. The club are in a great position to kick on and build using their academy and it’s just a matter of seeing how much faith Emery has in some of his younger talents as to whether they’ll feature in the Premier League.
