It was the 29th September when Tottenham travelled to Huddersfield in the Premier League. A Harry Kane double gave the Lilywhites a 2-0 lead but it wasn’t all good news. Jan Vertonghen was substituted at half-time with a hamstring injury that has seen him miss nine games so far, although he could be set to face Chelsea tomorrow after returning to training.

Spurs fans have had so much bad news as of late when it comes to injuries that some rare good news on their availability for tomorrow is a welcome site. Jan Vertonghen is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and alongside the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez he is really hard to beat. If he does play tomorrow, he’ll need to be back to his best straight away, especially seeing as Sanchez is out for this one.
The Belgian has been at Tottenham for a very long time now, having joined the club from Ajax back in summer 2012. However, the 31-year-old has gone from strength to strength as a Lilywhite, helping the club to qualify for the Champions League three-years running, and now eyeing up a fourth straight season at Europe’s top footballing table. To get there, though, they’ll have to win the big games and that’s exactly what they’ve got tomorrow as Chelsea come to Wembley.

The Lilywhites are delighted to have Vertonghen back and will hope the Belgian can inspire them to victory and keep a clean sheet against Chelsea.
