Arsenal could certainly do with adding another attacking element to their squad this summer. The Gunners are hugely inconsistent when going forward and can lack the final killer ball at times.
Unai Emery will have a clearer picture in his head about where his side needs improvement, although the midfield options at the club could certainly do with some added creativity on the face of things.
That’s where the likes of Dennis Praet and Leandro Trossard both come into the frame and enter this particular battle.
Both men are excellent prospects for a club like Arsenal and could make a huge difference to the Gunners moving forward, however, if the club can only sign one of them, who would be better suited to life at the Emirates Stadium and pleasing the faithful in attendance? Let’s take a closer look below…
Praet is an exciting midfielder and is one who could certainly thrive in the middle of the pitch for Arsenal if given the chance. The Belgian has been linked with a switch to the Premier League outfit in the past, with Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) having made the claim that the Gunners are considering a swoop for him.
The 24-year-old is a box-to-box midfielder who is able to play in a number of different roles centrally, whether that be deep or further forward and would provide the Gunners with some extremely valuable options, whilst he could fit straight alongside Lucas Torreira because of their days together at Sampdoria.
Praet, who is valued at £22.5million by Transfermarkt, is very confident on the ball, as he can dribble past his opponents with ease, whilst he also has the ability to pick out a pass anywhere on the pitch and put his team-mates in great goalscoring opportunities. Defensively, the Belgian is not shy of putting in tackles and is rather successful when doing so as he can break up the play before it reaches his own side’s defence.
Based on what he can offer Emery’s side, he would certainly appear to be an ideal replacement for the outgoing Aaron Ramsey and could even allow Arsenal to forget about their star man this season in the future.

Like Praet, Trossard is another hugely attractive option that Arsenal are thought to be considering a move for this summer and it is not hard as to see why. Also from Belgium, the £12.6m-rated wizard (Transfermarkt) has been in excellent form for KRC Gent this season and has shown just what he is capable of doing with the ball at his feet.
The 24-year-old has been in lethal form for KRC Genk this season, having notched 22 goals and nine assists in his 43 appearances across all competitions so far, which is all the more impressive when he has been deployed as a left winger for the Jupiler League Pro side.
The Belgian is gifted with the combination of pace and ball control which allows him to dribble past his defenders with ease, whilst his crossing ability is something to be admired at times and something that can hugely benefit Emery at Arsenal in the future.
Recent reports have suggested that negotiations could take place around a fee of €20m (£17.2m), which in today’s money would have to be considered a steal in the current transfer climate for a player of Trossard’s quality.
TT Grade: A
Both men bring outstanding attributes and qualities to the table that Arsenal would definitely benefit from having in their side next season, which makes this battle all the more difficult to decide a clear winner.
However, when pushed, Trossard would have to just edge this particular battle as he has shown that he is a real threat going forward on the left-hand side, which is something Emery’s side have missed on a number of occasions, whilst his contributions could help Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette become even more lethal and ruthless in front of goal.
With a rather small price to pay for the 24-year-old, Raul Sanllehi must make this one happen in the summer.
